In a way, it was like. She'd like to know what he'd taste like with ketchup. C'rin would take that. In fact, he'd probably offer his arm to her if she asked. But Teydrin wasn't old enough to ask. Shame. He rubbed at his eye again and winced a bit. "She's pretty strong for her age. Wonder if she'll keep that." What a terror she'll be.

Theo shrugged. "Probably. I know both of us are." Yes, Theo was strong enough to catch C'rin as he plummeted onto his head from Mith's saddle. Genius man... And C'rin was strong enough to duke it out with Theo, who was as strong as aforementioned. Therefore, they were both well off. "You think she'll like cookies?" Ah, yes. One of the great mysteries of the universe.

If C'rin and Theo populated the Weyr, what a scary Weyr that would be. Full of head-strong people who could overpower you and enjoy it. The Weyrleader shifted his footing and kept poking at his eye. It hurt. But he kept prodding at it. "Dear Faranth...probably. You mean you haven't tried giving her one yet?" He was surprised over that. He'd figured three months without cookies would have Theo clawing over the cookie jar to get one. Apparently not.

Theo stared at him in horror. "C'rin!" she cried, aghast. "She's just a baby! She'd choke on it! And stop poking your eye, you're making it worse." She swatted at his hand, oblivious to how... well... motherly she sounded.

He frowned at her and prodded at his eye again, just to spite her. But then, amazingly enough, he stopped and shoved his hand into the corresponding pocket. "You could break it up into tiny pieces," he stated this like she had to be the dumbest person alive to not think of that. "Mash it up, even?"

"It wouldn't be a proper cookie," Theo said, glaring at him. And she really did believe in that. The sanctity of the cookie must be maintained. Yes, the Weyrleaders had completely forgotten that they were not alone while they were bickering with each other. It was sad, really. "Anyway, why do you care? She can eat cookies when she's older."

It's such a shame K'lee was there to see C'rin act like a proper fool over his daughter. Such. A. Shame. Black is giggling. "You're absolutely right. I shouldn't care. Except that she's my daughter, too and I happen to be interested in knowing if she's going to be as insufferable as you are." Except that he could never think of Teydrin as anything other than adorable and perfect. She could do only wrong and papa Weyrleader would make sure she had every opportunity to do so.

((Well, Nai did suggest that it would be great if Calth caught a dragon with a male rider. >> I was really freaked out.... but it must admit that it was funny..... ))

((I don't even want to know why you just brought that up. ._.))
"Oh, thank you so much," Theo said. "As I pointed out before, she's mostly mine, and her being here means that you're stuck with me forever, even if someone else does catch Lykath. If... well... say..." She looked around. "If... Calth caught, for instance," she said, glancing at K'lee as a good victim, "You and I would still be joined, in a way, because of Teydrin." She peered at him. "So why do you like her?" It was a weird change of subject, but it was a natural thought process for Theo's brain.

Just imagining K'lee and Theo... C'rin started laughing. He laughed so hard he had to double over slightly to relieve the pressure. "How rich!" he gasped through laughs. "Hear that, K'lee? There's a chance for you afterall!" He didn't get around to answering the real question, too tickled to think about it.

Theo scowled. "I'm so glad that that amuses you. And it would be a sad day indeed if Mith was beaten by a Blue. No offense to Blues. But Lyakth would squish him. And they'd fall and die. Will you answer the question before I kick your head in?" Baby Teydrin had gone to sleep.

K'lee would have attacked C'rin, had Nari not dragged him off, yelling something about food in a very loud voice.

He had to wipe tears from the corners of his eyes and take gasping breaths to try to stop laughing so ridiculously loud. Once he had control of himself, he peered at the sleeping Teydrin and traced her tiny cheek with a finger. "I don't know. I just...adore her," he admitted honestly, feeling free to do so now that K'lee was gone.

Theo looked shocked. "Really?" she asked, holding onto Teydrin with a slightly tighter grip. "You do? You're not going to drown her in a well?" We've established this, Theo. You need to move on.

His lips curled into an awkward smile as he straightened up, hands in his pockets again. "No, I'm not you, Theo. And she's not you, either, so she's safe." He just smiled away, as always, pleased with himself.
