Well, it wasn't at night yet, so Z'them and Lilith decided to explore a bit in the forest. Z'them had been advised a while ago never to venture in at night, and, even though he was slightly curious as to what lay in the dense forest, he didn't want to find out at the present moment. Maybe later. But anyway, the Rain was quite happy to get out and about, and Lilith happily wandered ahead of Z'them, studying anything that looked interesting. She had never seen most of these things before. Neitha rode on Lilith's back contently. Oooo, what's that Z'themmine? "That would be a flower." It's very pretty! What's it for? "Well, you can do a lot of things with it. They smell nice, and they also make nice gifts for people you like." Lilith continued to point out things and have her 'Z'themmine' explain what they were and their practicality.

What did lie in wait in the forest? What would jump out at you if the sun got too low in the sky? Why were people so afraid? The answer: Raiden fell out of a lot of things. Doesn't make sense, you say? Just watch... Three... two... one- SPLAT. And Raiden had fallen out of a tree. On her head. Ouch. From the sketchpad clutched to her chest, she had been drawing. She looked at the Rain- how did a full-sized Queen fit in a forest, anyway? Certainly Adath couldn't...- with wide, upside-down eyes. "Eck."

Lilith was just special like that. She was lithe and slender, and could therefore fit into places you wouldn't normally think a Queen dragon could fit. And she tried not to hurt the trees when she moved. She certainly didn't want to hurt their feelings. If they had any. On seeing Raiden fall out of the tree, the Rain got very worried. She, as she stated during the hatching, liked Raiden a lot too. Raiden! You are not hurt too badly, are you? Lilith said, moving over to her with surprising speed considering her size and proximity of the trees. Her eyes were whirling a bit quickly, showing her worry. Z'them also wasted no time in hurrying over either.

"Eck," Raiden repeated inexorably. She rolled over and sat up properly. "I'm fine!" she announced, both to the two present and to Adath, who was now circling overhead and panicking. Go home, you silly goose. "I just fell out of the tree! Again! Oh, hey Z'them!" It is noted that concussions make Raiden unnaturally cheerful.

Lilith calmed down and Z'them gave a sigh of relief. I am glad to hear you are alright. "Hello to you to, Raiden." Z'them said back, glad to see her. "You sure know how to make an entrance." He joked, laughing a bit as he said it.

Raiden rubbed absently at her head where it throbbed. "We must stop meeting like this," she put in, laughing softly. "How are you? And thank you, Lilith."

"Yes, I agree. More of these 'meetings' might send you to the infirmary or something." Z'them mused with another laugh. "And I'm doing quite well, thank you. How about you?" Lilith gave her what smile she could.

"Absolutely fine," Raiden said, nodding vigorously to illustrate the point. "And I don't need to go to the infirmary, except to work when I have time and they let me. Sometimes they don't, you know," she confided. "What have you and Lilith been up to?"

"Good to hear it." Z'them replied to her first response, and chuckled lightly at her second. "Well, we haven't been up to much lately." He told her with a slight shrug. "Today we decided to check out this forest a bit, seeing as neither of us had really gotten the opportunity to do so." He explained. "How about you and Adath? Done anything interesting lately?"

Raiden shrugged. "Adath is too big to go most places." And the Storm was ridiculously huge. "Usually I have to leave him behind when I go places, which panics him a bit. It isn't good to frighten him, with his heart and all. So mostly we just go flying." She sighed happily. She had always wanted to fly, and now she could.

"Yes, I've definitely noticed. I think he's thoroughly earned the spot as biggest dragon in the entire weyr." Z'them mused, thinking about how he had seen just how huge the Storm had gotten. Flying! We go flying a lot too. It's very peaceful and relaxing! Lilith pipped in, and Z'them nodded in agreement. "Yes we do!" He too had always dreamed of flying adragonback. It was such a thrill to do so now.

Raiden grinned. "He makes Lykath look like a gnat," she admitted. "Aren't Queens supposed to be the biggest?" She laughed, then looked abashed. "No offense, Lilith. And yes, flying is excellent!"

Z'them laughed. None taken! Lilith assured quite cheerfully. She certainly had no complaints abut her own size. Other things, maybe, but not that. "It also gives a new and interesting vantage point for drawing."

"Yes it does," Raiden said, enthusiastic. Then her tone turned sheepish. "Though most of the time I can't focus on drawing while flying. I'm too obsessed with the fact that I am, in fact, actually flying. With Adath, no less!" Adath, meanwhile, had gone back to his ledge. Lilith, will you not join me? he asked, feeling vaguely lonely.

Z'them flashed her a grin. "I know the feeling. Just the thought of finally being able to go wherever, whenever, with the feeling of being high and free. It can be almost overwhelming." He said a bit wistfully. "I sometimes forget about sketching all together, and have almost dropped it out of distraction on a few occasions." Of course, Adath! Lilith looked positively delighted as she sprung gracefully into the air, somehow managing to avoid any trees on her way up. Gliding over, she settled comfortably next to him on the ledge. So much for Queens being bigger, she was dwarfed by him by a good 30 feet.
