Yes, Nai is nuts. The proof is in the pudding. ... ...or the title of this thread. Whichever comes first. Guess what, little children? The Hatching started DURING THE TOUCHING. WHILE ALL THE DRAGONRIDERS AND WEYRPEOPLE WERE HELPING WITH THE TSUNAMI. ISN'T THAT LOVELY? Whee. Anyway. Since Nai has a short attention span, let's just say that we all know that the Hatching has begun, and since everyone's already at the Sands... Lykath shrieked. MITH IF YOU DO NOT GET BACK HERE THIS INSTANT I WILL EAT YOU! Wow, Lykath. Wow.

Both K'lee and Nari flicked back, stripping off their riding cloths as the pair came. They both had sleepy dragons who insisted that they go back to their weyrs instead of the hatching sands. B'aral was ripping his hair out. He didn't want to WOORRRRRRRRKKKK! NEEE! Yeah. Candidates. Right. Well, Keefe was there on the sands, panting and.... everything. He had just chased away Panni when Lykath's yell rang through his head. If it wasn't broad casted to everyone, then the realization that the eggs were hatching where the thing that got the boy's attention. Faysal was still trying to avoid people while also looking at all the eggs. Yeah, Ami had sugar, so her brain isn't working very well.

The humming, the signal for every hatching, had started. It was only a few lizards at the moment, as the riders were busy with the tsunami, but it grew every second. Shards, it was loud! Leandros scolded himself for saying that too often. This was not easy, and the dragons seemed to enjoy messing around with their human counterparts. What else could explain this sudden hatching?
He ran to his place, worried about the lack of proper Hatching materials ready. How would they feed all the new dragonets if they didn't have the meat ready yet?

Astonishingly, it was one of the Queen eggs which Hatched first. Out flopped, rather ungracefully, a beautiful Rain. She was perfect in all detail, delicate. She looked much like her mother- except, of course, for the individual traits of her color. She got up, and chirped happily at Lykath, who purred back and nudged her gently away, out of the protective circle of her paws. Mith was SO gonna get it.

WHAT? Mith banked in the air, C'rin nearly falling out of his harness. He'd been leaning over the side of the dragon and staring at the tsinami. Destruction! Maybe he'd get to see the village get destroyed! Wouldn't that just be lovely? Haha, C'rin, you wont get to see it. Why? Because your dragon is gonna get eaten if you don't leave! Mine, we must go no-No. I want to see the-There is no choice. But I want to see-AUGH COLD. They blinked between and reappeared near their ledge. C'rin was dumped uncerimoniously as Mith moved to Lykath. I am here now. Mine wanted to see the big water, but I told him no, he sounded proud. And then he noticed the Rain. She's so pretty! Oh, isn't she just so pretty, Lykath? The proud papa had no idea that Lykath was upset with him. C'rin rubbed at the spot on his hip he'd been dropped on. Sharding dragon. He glared at Theo, but joined her. And sulked. He'd wanted to see the tsunami.
Jaise had been about to leave the Touching when the hum went up. He rolled his eyes and turned back around, joining the growing line of Candidates. Well, here goes. If he didn't Impress this time, he'd take up mining. Or something.

The next to Hatch was a Bone. As the young male shook himself and proceeded to wander aimlessly, Lykath turned her gaze on her mate. You are in trouble, she informed him. Be nice. No. He got here as quickly as possible, Lykath! Theo paused to glare at C'rin. "At least you showed up, jerk," she muttered, crossing her arms. He had to show up.
Far distant in the dry deserts, if there was anyone to see them, sandstorms howled across the landscape. Destruction.

Oooh. A Bone! Wait-I'm in trouble? D: Mith looked crushed. C'rin glared back at her. "What? I wanted to see the buildings get flooded. So much more interesting than this."
If C'rin knew about the sandstorms, he'd force Mith to leave to go look at them.

At least the bone hadn't been the first to hatch, Nari told herself, watching the hatchings from a high ledge. In Depth's clutch, it had been, and then it had betweened. Such a horrible thing! Shivering, Nari watched what was happening silently.
Keefe watched the Bone, not the Rain. He had no chance to impress a Rain!
Faysal was still trying to get himself in order, and look respectable, as he hadn't really bothered.....

Leandros watched the Bone, smiling softly as the dragonet wandered. It was good luck that it had hatched second, and not first, right? And the Rain was lovely, though he knew he'd never impress it, nor want to. But another queen for the Weyr was always a good thing, especially one as pretty as that.

Theo punched him in the shoulder. Hard. It is common knowledge that, from a girl to a boy, punching is a good thing. Well, usually it was. Just not when the punch was an attempt to break a bone. Anyway.
You are late, Lykath snapped. The next to Hatch was a Blue, who tumbled out of his egg and went straight of his Bonded. Hello, Jaisemine![/b] What a strange way to address his own bonded. Salaronth would like to eat now![/b] He sounded friendly and downright bubbly. What was not apparent was that he was very violent when he felt a strong emotion that wasn't pure happiness. Go figure. Haha, Jaise. Haha.
The Bone, not to be outdone, went straight for His as well. And he thought he could beat your Baynath, the Bone said smugly. Leandrosmine, feed more than he gets fed by His.
Next Hatched a wonderful creature- a Storm. The moment he Hatched, the Rain wheeled about and stared at him. This stare was returned. It wasn't an unfriendly stare, nor a friendly one. It was confused. Immediately, the two went to look at each other more closely. After a moment, as if deciding to try something, the Storm ran to the boys and the Rain ran to the girls. The Rain went and sat decicively next to Raiden, while the Storm sat on Zethem's feet. But neither of them Impressed. Strange little creatures. Crazy, just as Theo had predicted.

Yes. Poor, poor Weyrlings. (They had to deal with the dragonets.) Poor B'aral. (He had to deal with both the dragonets and the riders.) The long list of things to do was already out and being scribbled on.

A Spector was next to Hatch- another King! He was just as decided as his brothers had been, and moved straight for his chosen. Who happened to be Keefe. Why does your name sound like a shop for the consumption of hot liquids, K'femine? he asked curiously. My name is Justith. It does not sound like that. Should it?

HOLY SHARDS AND @&!$*.... That went on for a while in K'fe's head. "N-no...." He said, eyes wide as he tried to back away from Justith and stroke the eyeridge all at the same time. Oh. Well, What does my name sound like, K'femine? "I don't know..." Wow.

Surprise and utter delight lit his face, an expression that seemed foreign to the normally stoic smith. "Baynath," he murmered, testing the name as he gently stroked the dragonet's eye ridges.
Hunger interrupted this touching moment. "We had best get you something to eat then, right Baynath? And you can have as much as you'd like."
Yes, more than that silly blue. Just why is he so happy, mine? He looks like a green, prancing about like that. HEY SALARONTH! YOU LOOK LIKE A GREEN!
Leandros sighed, realizing what he had gotten himself into. Things would be a bit difficult, it seemed. But entirely worth it.
