"She'd eat him," Theo said wisely. "And then throw him up and feed him to Lykath. And then atack Lykath, just for good measure." She imagined this. The look on Lykath's imagined face was the equivalent of the expression on that of an elephant watching the attack of a rogue chicken.

L'dros was, well, taken back by Theo's apparently sage wisdom. Assuming it was a joke, for the sake of his sanity (not that it will last long XD), he chuckled nervously. "I dunno, I think Frood could put up a bit of a fight."
Frood seemed rather eager to do this, until he remembered that he was still hungry. Poofing off between[/b], he reappeared with more fish for himself and the other flits.

Theo shrugged. "Nanny's female," she explained. "It is a well-established fact that any male who tries to fight any female of the same species will suffer a humiliating defeat. That, or he'll win and be condemned for beating up a girl." She Who Knew From Personal Experience beamed.

L'dros chuckled, recognizing the truth to the statement. "Thats if he isn't smart enough to fight to a draw," he pointed out. "Or a close victory."
Hey, I could beat any other dragon, girl or not! Except... maybe a queen...

"But then he'd be made fun of for tying with a girl," Theo pointed out. "Or she'd get revenge on him later. And that would be more painful than losing!"
Good save, Lykath rumbled, sadistically amused.

It wasn't a save! They're just bigger, is all. The bone was all but pouting now.
"Made fun of for a tie? It's not unheard of, but not common," he mused. L'dros was beginning to suspect that Theo was trying to prove her point via the argument. He decided to change the subject so that she wouldn't try and win such a frivolous issue. "Does the weyr have a Smith? I haven't met any of the craftsmen yet, and Baynath refuses to ask the other dragons."

Do you want me to eat you? Lykath was enjoying this.
Theo sniffed. "If you think you can take me, I'd just love to demonstrate my point," she offered with an evil grin. She wanted to beat up someone besides C'rin, who always got boring because he was just so unimaginitive with curses. Besides, Lykath cheated. Anyone uninvolved in the issue would not understand that statement.

I'd like to see you try! Yes, Baynath was very brave when Lykath wasn't actually there.
Ah, so he had been right. "Demonstrate what point? You're clearly better with arguments and other things that require cleverness or cunning," L'dros replied, nodding. "I, however, would exceed you in patience, for example, or in tasks requiring physical strength. And as clever as you are, I don't think you could use a forge very well."

All right, then. Yawning, the Queen detached herself from Mith, who was clingy in a very cute way. I will be right back, she said, and took off.
"Nope, not a forge," Theo replied cheerfully, tactfully choosing to ignore the rest of his words. She cocked her head for a moment. "Baynath's gonna get eaten," she said.
Then Lykath showed up and landed next to the Bone. She yawned again. I am here, she said, rather unnecessarially.

Baynath looked absolutely terrified. Not fair! You're bigger! Well, if it was me and Mine against you and Yours, we'd win, he retorted weakly.
L'dros patted the Bone's hide contentedly. "You're always getting into trouble, Baynath. Sorry if he's bothering you, Lykath."

Lykath stared. Do you wish to make a bet on that? she asked. After all, Theo had beaten the stuffing out of more than one man even in her own limited lifetime.
Theo snickered. "Actually," she confided in a low voice, "she's rather enjoying herself."

Baynath was regaining his confidence now, enough to stand up to the queen.A bet? What's the wager then? I think we could win.
Shardit Baynath! I'm not fighting the Weyrwoman! L'dros stared at his dragon in shock. He hadn't thought Baynath would be that crazy. And while Lykath might be thinking all of this fun, L'dros was a bit worried about incurring Theo's wrath. The thought that they might lose never once crossed his mind.
Yes you are. A bet is a bet! Besides, it will be fun. Maybe she'll stop calling you squishy.
Or maybe she'll kill me in my sleep... I'll think of someway to get you back for this later.
Looking forward to it! Now, Lykath, like I said, we need a wager.

Lykath observed him cooly. Actually, when I spoke of a wager, I meant only to ask if you would wager your own safety on something so silly. But if you wish to put terms on it.... She looked at Theo. Do you wish to do this, Mine? Theo shrugged. "Whatever, dear." She looked thoughtful. "Do you think it might make our luuuuuuuuufferly Weyrleader would be jealous if I played with someone else? Yep. I think so. Let's do it!" The idea of making the 'lufferly' Weyrleader upset over something silly was exciting. All right. Do we really need a material bet? How do we go about it?

Well, it's pretty simple. If I win, me and Mine get something from you and yours. If you win, it's the other way around. So, if we win... then we get to use your weyr for a week. If you win, which you won't, well, name your terms. The queen's weyr was the biggest one, and Baynath loved the idea of staying there, even temporarily.
L'dros looked puzzled. "Jealous?" he murmured, wondering what Theo was talking about. C'rin would probably enjoy the mini vacation.

"He likes the opportunity to hit me," Theo explained, beaming. "Except I always hit him back! Isn't that fun?"
Lykath sniffed. There is nothing I want from you, though I might ask how you expect me to fit in a smaller weyr. Oh, and Mith will probably be upset. He'll wail. That will certainly get annoying.
