Name: Illyra
Age: 17 Turns
Appearance: Slim-waisted and rather lacking in the height department (about 5'3", so much shorter than her siblings), it would seem Illyra was more of a frailer type of girl. It's surprisingly not so- she's compact, her build more being like that of a dancer's in such a fashion. (For this she could be compared to a Violet.) Her hair is an odd color, being completely silvery in most settings, and her eyes are blue-gray.
Personality: Psychotic. Utterly psychotic. Not necessarily- BUT she is definitely enough to make one want to pull out all their hair. She thinks little to nothing of what a 'male race' can do, thinking that most of them are utterly insane or stupid. She uses sarcasm to the fullest, and is always, always, ALWAYS pleased when she can fluster someone or put their hackles up. It takes much to really get her angry- she's alot cooler and more taunting than the usual person in arguments, for it is terribly fun to see them get more annoyed when you don't say anything or completely ignore what they say. Illyra's....demonic. not that that's a bad thing. On the other hand, however, she is what would be in our Earth times somewhat of a 'treehugger' or environmentalist. You would most likely see her marching around yelling Green Peace, driving a nifty little Prius hybrid, and eating as a vegetarian. Illyra does have a compassionate side, and is very good with instruments and has an intuition on how to handle, raise, and care for animals. When this Candidate isn't her normal, bouncy self, she becomes a regretfully sad person, eerily philosophical, and more thoughtful and caring. Unfortunately or fortunately, this has yet to happen often, and is a of a rare event. She's frightfully clever as well, and does love to manipulate her siblings into battles, although this often turns on her as they figure it out quickly enough, and then come after her.
Other than the above, Illyra could be considered somewhat aloof, and does like to give herself airs. For some twist of nature she's still bale to manage being almost completely down to earth- as long as she's around those of her own gender. Around males she'll become downright scoffing. Interestingly enough....there's only a few things which fluster/anger Illyra or make her cry. The first thing that will get her angry -unless Vintaph or Jilath refers to it- is the fact that while she is Jilath's twin, she is younger by an hour. It irritates her to no end. Other things that would make her angry would be death or sickness. She hates things she cannot change, and is perversely attracted to them to do so, as shown by the way she takes in strays, fixes them up, and then releases them. Or, in the case of their death, goes into a bitter solitude a day after burying them, and enters one of her melancholy, philosophical moods. Any derrogative comment to herself she can often bear, but one of one of her temporary charges is an easy way to have a dangerous enemy, who will likely not forgive you. At least, not until after your entrails have been tied into a knot, your tongue cut out, and....well, you get the idea. Although, noramally, the idea of physical violence horrifies her in many ways; she believes herself too refined for that, and also really couldn't bear to hurt anyone or thing. Adding it all: she's a healer, not a destroyer.
History: Born as a twin to Jilath, Illyra and her siblings grew up to a wealthy lord holder in the Northern Continent. The sibling rivalries ran rampant in their family. Sometimes, it got so out of hand that the three of them had to be forcibly separated. They just did NOT get along. Each personality clashed with the other and arguments barely ever stopped. They always found something to argue about, whether it was something important or something that was completely ridiculous to be arguing about. The importance didn't matter, only who was right. And each always thought themselves to be right. However, on the rare occasion, Jilath would end up teaming up with Vintaph against Illyra. Often this ended badly for Illyra, who much prefered trying to pit her siblings against each other, since she did not like the use of physical violence, and very rarely fought back. Besides, she realized when she did, it didn't do much despite her strength- they had size on her, and numbers.
When they weren't fighting, they were most likely apart from one another, and being taught various things. Their parents thought they should be educated, and the three of them absorbed the information quite easily. Illyra worked alot with the Hold's resident healers, fascinated by their work. Unfortunately, she could not bear the emotional side effects she experienced when someone she had been working with died, and instead contented herself with working on animals of all shapes and sizes. Wild flits, stray canines, felines, runners, herdbeasts...Illyra had some sixth sense which allowed her to work with them. And then was gifted with music. She often likes to fancy thatVintaph and Jilath hate her more than each other because, well, she's more talented and better than them. Then Vintaph was searched by the weyr and went off to impress a dragon on his first standing. At least he was happy. Back home, the fighting between the sisters didn't stop, not in the slightest. It might have even amplified, since they had only each other as enemies and no Vintaph to turn on once and awhile. When the massacre happened Vintaph's dragon was killed, and he has never been the same. Jilath and Illyra immediately went to the weyr to support their brother, and the three of them came together in what has been the only time they have ever showed any caring or compassion to one another. They had their moment of sibling love. Now that things have returned to semi-normal, with the exception of Vintaph's sadistic nature, and the three of them are together at the weyr, the fighting between them hasn't completely stopped, but has at least become more civil. Though it's still quite normal to find them arguing. Old habits die hard.
The Companions: None.
Dragon Preferences: Something female named Siyanath.
Why: She's strongly feminist. I think having a male would kill her. Yes, it could be amusing, but I /really/ don't want to roleplay that....preferably named Siyanath. XP Unless I'm the only one who remembers that dear kestrel...
