((AU hatching. Bring in any characters on site, riders or not, and make them into Candidates. They must be on site! This will not follow any color scheme. Each color shall be a surprise, even to me. I'll make them up spontaneously, and I'll tailor them to fit you and the Candidate.))
Gold Aramyth was unsettled by the first look she had of her clutch. The eggs were strange. They weren't the common, expected hues -gold and bronzes and blues and browns and greens- but a myriad of colors. Some looked as if some painter had thrown his palette across them in anger, others were bright, psychedelic colors that blinded the eyes, and more were dark and subtle, almost ominous in hue. But like any good mother, she still stood by them and ignored the curious looks, insulting whispers, and the worries of the Weyrleaders. She even ignored her own rider, who was despaired and believed that the clutch's offspring would be horribly mutated. Her mate himself was shy from the dooming prophesies, and he spent no more time with her than the other males, and that was when he brought her food. She treated them all with great disdain and was certain her clutch was perfectly fine. The eggs hardened and a few touchings occurred. Strangely, the turnout of Candidates for the clutching was very, very high- they were excited about the unusual clutch. Rebellion was at a height in Pern, so many others went just for the shock value. (A few Candidates unsuccessfully tried to exploit this, selling small skins proclaiming that they had touched the unusual eggs. Aramyth was angered at the spectacle they made, and promptly had them taken away.) And now...it was the final event, the moment everyone had tensed for. The Gold started the hum and it carried through the other dragons like wind through leaves. The Hatching had officially begun.

((Aramyth. ^^ I had a dragon named that once. Anyway, awesome idea, sounds like a TON of fun! One question before I post.... How many candidates are we allowed to have? Like...say....if someone wanted to bring in most of their characters on the site....*coughpossiblysixcough*))

((Go on ahead! It will prolong the hatching, and be fun for me. It seems like a common dragon name, but I never used it that way. That's just my Legaica's name on Subeta....))

((The more the merrier, right? *laughs*))
"Hatching!" Sonya called excitedly as she immediately stood up from the chair in which she was sitting, knocking it over in the process. It fell to the stone floor with a thud. "Jeeze, Sonya, break the furniture why don't you." Latarel joked as he grinned teasingly at his sister from across the table they had been sharing. "Ha ha." She replied mockingly, grinning back at him. "Come on, we have to hurry, I don't want to miss a thing!" She grabbed his wrist and pulled him out of the chair with surprising force. Not that he resisted in the slightest. "You don't have to worry about me, I'm just as excited as you are!" He said, grinning wildly as the siblings quickly made their way to the hatching grounds. They both went to go stand together where they were supposed to.
"HAAAATTTCCHHINNNGGGG! HAAAATTTCCHHINNNGGGG! HAAAATTTCCHHINNNGGGG!" Jilath sang as she skipped eagerly down the hallways on her way to the sands. Every once and a while she would add a little hop to her skip and continue on. She had been called bouncy before, and now she was really showing it. Literally. "Pretty eggs that will turn into pretty dragons! Yay pretty colors! Lots of lovely colors!" Apparently she was making up the song as she went along. And, along the way, she ran into Zethem. Unfortunately for him. She immediately ran towards him and jumped on his back, in her famous tackle-hug style. "Hello cutie!" That was pretty much her normal name for any of the attractive boys at the weyr. Many wondered if she knew their names at all, for she was much more likely to call then 'cutie,' or something along those lines, then by an actual name. "Hey, Jilath." Zethem replied once he was able to breath again. Getting off his back she gave him a wide grin and giggled happily. "To the hatching!" He rolled his eyes and shook his head playfully. "Yes, onward to the hatching. Lead the way." "Absolutely." And, without further ado, she skipped to the grounds, pulling Zethem along with her.
Larian was just about to pour spices into the current batch of klah simmering over the fire when he heard Aramyth's hum to signal the start of the hatching. Quickly putting the spices back where he found them, he jogged out of the kitchens and towards the hatching grounds. Grinning mischievously, he decided that he'd definately have to come back to that later. There would be nothing funnier than watching people go to take a sip of nice, warm klah, and then have their mouth feel like it was on fire because of the spiciness. Mwahahaha! Not to mention he'd have to put some of his other masterful pranks into action as well....
Rentai also wasted no time in going to the sands for the hatching. There was no way he was going to miss this! He was absolutely confident in his chances for impression. He was Rentai. He was the best. Always had to be the best. His way, or the highway. Nothing stood in his way of what he wanted. He'd get it if it killed him. He saw everything as a competition, and a chance to better himself. And, not to mention, set him ahead of others. Hot-headed to the core....
((Six wonderful characters! What can I say, I couldn't help myself. XD))

((I.... am cheating and using my other intro >< Do not hate me))
Nata hadn't been asleep, oh no. She hadn't slept much in the last week, in fact, the prospect of the Hatching just too real, too exciting, in her mind. This morning, therefore, was no different. Aramyth began to hum, and other dragons echoed her, and the sound vibrated through the young woman's body, giving her an odd tingling sensation as she threw off her sleeping furs and padded quickly as she could manage without potentially harming herself to the trunk at the foot of her bed.
Robes first, yes, those were very important, and she tugged them out and slipped them on before diving right back into the trunk to retrieve her bag of ribbons. She really did have far too many ribbons, she mused to herself, sifting carefully through them all a while before finding the one that looked strangely like a yellow butterfly when she tied it into her hair, black-tipped wings bobbing above her hair and little black streamers flowing down behind her. A parting gift from her father, for good luck.
Grinning to herself, she got to her feet (managing to step on the edge of her robes and nearly send herself tumbling into her bed) and strode briskly out of her room, keeping her pace steady and fluid for a time, so that she could effectively tie the ribbon into her hair and make it look the way that it was supposed to. Once it was set, though, she broke out into a full-out run, careening across the Bowl, and she was quite fast. She had always liked running, and though it was a bit more difficult than usual given that generally her skirts or shorts didn't extend even to her knees, she managed not to trip herself again.
Still grinning, panting only slightly with her cheeks just a tad bit flushed as she reached the entrance to the Hatching grounds, the young woman paused to smooth out her robes before striding forward, spreading her arms and bowing to the Queen before moving to take a place on the 'sands. She beamed at everyone around her first, letting her eyes capture the stands, the eggs, the people, the dragons and the Queen before she focused her attention on the eggs themselves, shifting her footing slightly on the hot sands. They were quite interesting... very odd looking eggs, very unique colors, and she bounced slightly on the balls of her feet in excitement, hardly able to contain herself while she stared and waited.
------
Sharding morning, sharding dragon, sharding people scuttering around....
Eremos was in quite a bad mood. He grumbled and rolled over in bed, tucking his blankets all around him and shoving his pillow onto his head in an attempt to drown the sound of the hum. It didn't work. The sound was too low, it just continued to vibrate and he could feel it inside his body. There was no way he'd be able to sleep through that....
Shard it all.
He threw his blankets off (literally threw, watching with some measure of satisfaction as it crumpled in a heap next to the wall) and sat up, rubbing at his hair before smoothing it back down, huffing as it fell into his eye. It was always in his eye... he continued to pat at it as he swung his legs over the edge of his bed, pausing to yawn and stretch before standing and moving around his bed. And he stubbed his toe on his trunk, which caused anger to flare. He took it out on his robes a little, tugging them on with much more force than he needed, and the fact that he ripped the neck a little only pissed him off further, so that by the time he was striding across the bowl, he was grumbling irritably to himself. He brushed his hair from his eyes, and it fell right back into them.
This was very annoying.
The sun wasn't that bright yet, but his hair still acted sort of like makeshift sunglasses, protecting his eyes from the rays. But he didn't notice that, you see, because that was a positive thing, and he much preferred to think about negative things, so all he saw was the hair in front of his eyes. He was probably going to trip over something and hurt his pretty self...
However, he made it to the sands in one piece, so he set immediately to complaining even more. The sands were too hot, His sandals were uncomfortable and the robes were dumb looking and scratchy, Aramyth was too big, the eggs hurt his eyes, it was too loud even though the stands weren't filled and all the other people were far too cheerful. Especially a bouncy girl who seemed to have skewred a butterfly with her hair. He found that to be a pleasant thought and settled with it, folding his arms and brooding quietly as he stared at the eggs. He pointedly ignored the large fair of firelizards that entered with the next girl, pursing his lips and narrowing his eye severely.
-----
In all honesty, Galiana wasn't quite sure how she'd made it to the sands... the morning had been quite a blur, and what with all her firelizards thoughts flooding into her brain at once, it was difficult, if not completely impossible, for her to determine which of said thoughts had actually been her own. She found this was quite a common occurrence, however, and it didn't bother her too much, though she had a headache, as usual... she really was sick of headaches, and wasn't quite sure she wanted to Impress. She really didn't need any more voices flitting around in her brain... but maybe a dragon would be able to make her sharding firelizards shut up, that would be very nice indeed.
She did make it, though, and she did remember the robes, which was nice, she'd thought. It would have been embarrassing had she shown up for the hatching in her sleep things, or worse yet, in nothing at all, which she wouldn't have put past herself. She was not a morning person, after all, and was even less so when she was distracted, which she constantly was by her annoying fair...
She smiled as best she could as she strode towards the Queen, stifling a yawn long enough to bow before whirling around and letting it free as she shuffled to her place, wincing a bit as the movement sent the grains of sand into her sandals. That hurt, go figure, and she hopped a little bit in place, shaking her feet, which didn't serve any purpose other than to kick up some of the sand and cause even more of it to slip into the shoes. Just great. Well it woke her up a bit... sort of.... almost.
She waved a hand irritably at her flitters, sending them to settle on the ledges above with indignant little chirrups and, rustling their wings, seven pairs of whirling eyes fixed upon her while she turned to face the eggs and regard them quietly. They were strange eggs, and the fact that they were swimming in front of her eyes thanks to how tired she was only made them more confusing.

(( For now...just a few XD ))
This felt wrong. So wrong. Why was he here? Ceydrin rubbed his arm and glared around the Sands ruefully. Again he thought about how wrong this felt and latched onto the idea as he shuffled forward into the line of canddiates. The boy switched from rubbing his arm to running the hand through his hair, tugging on it lightly and groaning to himself. The sand under his feet was hot and he really didn't like the way the white robe hung on his frame. It made him look skinny, since his arms were a little behind on the muscle development. The best part of him was hidden away under white fabric, and again he rubbed at his arm. Ceydrin felt self-conscious, as if expecting that everyone was staring at him. Shards, why? No one needed to look at him! He would be perfectly happy if no one ever looked at him again...
He was about as happy as Jaisedin, who was actually less happy. The older boy grumbled and kept to the back of the lines, sending everyone who dared even glance his way a glowering look. Well, what he thought was glowering. Jaise was flat out drunk, having wanted this even to be...interesting. He narrowed his eyes slightly as he swayed on his feet. Those eggs were trippy and almost hurt to stare at. If he'd known they were so colorful he might have snuck in and stared at one. Or maybe tried to steal one, just for the thrill. Almost being eaten by an angry Gold had to be more interesting than sitting around and waiting for eggs to hatch.
In sharp contrast to these two was little Kyretia. The boy was nearly bouncing on his toes from the excitement bubbling up inside him. The girlish male turned and latched onto the boy beside him, nearly squealing with anticipation. "Oh, oh, isn't this just fantastic!" Leorin, the poor boy who had been grabbed, flinched away from the touch and sulked in place. "Whatever. Not really. I could care less if the eggs hatched at all," he sighed, eyes finding the sand nicer to look at than the pretty boy beside him. Kyre wrinkled his nose and leaned on him further, not noticing the way Leorin tried to edge away from him. "How can you say that? I hope each and every egg hatches! I'd be so sad if they didn't. Wouldn't you?" "...not really." Sigh.

((Here come a familiar Duo of Chaos... ;D Their attitudes shall be more friendly, if argumentative... meaning they are friends who argue a lot...))
"Hurry up!"
"You're the one who needs to hurry!"
"YOU took forever to show up!"
"I was trying to find my robe..."
"You LOST it? SUCH a guy..."
"Yeah, well... it was white, and some of the sheets were white, so..."
"Oh, shut up before we get kicked off."
"Oh yeah..."
This was quite clearly the Duo of Chaos. Fia and Kerion, both of them young teenagers, and otherwise very unalike. The girl was quick-tempered and bold, while the boy was calm and sensible. Fia found the eggs awesome and Kerion was rather concerned about the health of the dragonets. So they basically balanced each other out.
They both paused near the Queen and bowed -Kerion respectfully and Fia rather dramatically- before heading over to a random Candidate. With a rather mischievous grin on his face.
"Helloo, Larian!" Yep, Fia knew all. Including the names of her fellow Candidates. And their reputations. "Pulled anything on the Queen or clutch?" she asked innocently, tilting her head so much that it was nearly upside-down.
"S'cuse her," Kerion muttered, tugging her 'runner-tail' to pull her head back up. "Had at least five cups of klah just now..."
"I was TIRED!"
The loud protest echoed across the Sands and made Kerion flush scarlet.

Larian grinned back at Fia. "Why, no, Fia, I haven't actually. I guess I liked the eggs too much to really do anything. I betcha, subconsciously, I thought it would ruin my chances for impression. And I certainly wouldn't want to do that!" He said with a laugh. He also knew everyone's name. Kinda went with the prank-dealing. Had to know who was who and want they were like. Then he could pick prime targets.
He had never really met Fia personally before, but he already liked her. He had a feeling this girl would be very fun to hang around, and that the two of them would get along wonderfully. Cue mischievous thoughts.
"Five cups huh? Well, I hope you got your klah fix for the day," and then he lowered his voice, "because I wouldn't drink any of it for the rest of the day if I were you..." Another devilish lit up his face as he winked at Fia and Kerion.

((Kudos if you can guess the name and type of dragon before I announce it through Impression. )) The first dragon to hatch was a bright, cheerful red and tickle-me-pink. The two colors faded in and out of each other long his sides, and the little dragon was very cutesy. It would have fit better in some little cartoon show than in the Sands. Aramyth's rider, Naomi, was embarrassed by the young one, because it did prove her dragon's clutch was too strange... The little dragonette didn't notice the stares, and neither did he care. He happily bounced in a sickenenly cute way around the Sands. He made everyone think of rainbows and butterflies and sugar and all manner of happy little things. He stopped and sat in the sands placidly, as the second egg hatched. The egg had been a swirly dark pruple, maroon, and black, but the dragon who came from it shared almost nothing in common with the egg. He was a bright gold that turned sharply to royal blue on his legs. There was no subtle fading from the gold to blue- just a hard edge. Black criss crosses went across his back on top of a silver-white streak, and a turquoise mask covered his eyes and tail tip. He certainly was odd, but very powerful in appearance. The next dragon was the first female. She hatched from a dusky egg, all shades of grays and blues. The dragonette was none of these shades, instead being a pale, delicate green. For a glance it seemed she might be a normal, a Green, but she was too large and other aspects of her coloring and body were off. The tips on eahc wing had one large, silken strand fluttering from them, and each wing had a single brown-yellow spot. There was a similar spot on each of her hindquarters. The first dragonette now moved. He went to Kyretia -no suprprise- and introduced himself. My lovely rider! Tickle Elmoth loves you! Ahahaha! The yellow male looks at Elmoth with pity and fright. The female, who seemed 'out there', didn't notice anything as she inspected the girls.

"That makes sense," Fia replied with a serious nod, arms crossed dramatically. "Yes... yes it does. Klah... yes, I think five cups is enough... I suppose. We shall beware!" she announced. Oh yes, such fun they could have... her mind was cackling madly. The gleam of pure wicked-playfulness in her eyes scared Kerion.
About as much as the pink and red hatchling did.
"Faranth help us, the Bringer of Cutesy Cuddly Doom is among us!" Fia yelped, hiding behind Kerion and peeking out over his shoulder -though she was at least half a foot taller than him.
"Girl, that is a DRAGONET," he told her, not bothering to move. Any second now...
"Yeah?" The girl stepped out from behind him. "Okay then."
"He's chosen... thank goodness. So that leaves...."
"Oh! Big strong fellow, isn't he?" Fia laughed, pointing at the gold and blue male.
"Yeah... sure. Y'know, that green one... her markings..." Kerion trailed off.
"They look like a moth!" Fia exclaimed, grinning.
"Maybe that's her name," the boy said with a soft laugh.

Pink and... pink and red? Nata blinked and the bubbly little dragonet, shifting her footing a bit before beginning to bounce again. That was a very odd dragonet. Yes, very odd indeed, but it was oh so cute! She very much liked cute things.... even though the thing was a bit too cute. That was strange. She'd never experienced anything being too cute before... she supposed that only furthered how cute the thing truly was, prancing around....
All right, there was a second one, and equally as odd, while the first little one sat to watch. Gold and blue and black and silver and turquoise and... no, that seemed to be it. But that was still quite a lot of color. Quite a lot indeed, and it was all s severe-looking. It didn't blend at all... and then a third one hatched. A little Green, only she wasn't little, and she had... streamers on her wings? And brown spots?
My, this was all very interesting!
The too-cute pink and red dragonet Impressed, and she clapped for it before turning her eyes to the other odd ones.
------
Eremos just about vomited for the sight of the cutsey pink and red dragonet, taking a few steps away from it and glaring at it. No he didn't like that one at all... far too cheerful... and the other ones were too strange! Were there no normal dragonets in this clutch? Normal was good, he liked normal....
Actually he didn't like anything, but he came closer to liking normal than anything else.
------
Great. Gale's eyes already hurt from the eggs, and now they were hurting from the dragonets, too, and her head was still throbbing while her firelizards bickered above her.... She shook her head somewhat and cast her eyes down to give her eyes a rest, missing the first Impression, though she didn't mind too much.

((Tickle Me Elmo. XDD The green one most definately makes me think of a Lunar Moth. Lunath, perhaps? No idea about the other, though he's awesome. ^^))
"Yes, beware." Larian replied, his own eyes looking much like Fia's. Faranth help the weyr once they became good friends. He wasn't exactly scared of the red and pink dragon, but it certainly didn't appeal to him. Way too cute for his tastes.
Jilath on the other hand practically squealed with delight when he had hatched. He was PINK! AND CUTE! AND BOUNCY! Pink was Jilath's All Time Favorite Color. And the little thing was so happy. She ogled over him until he impressed, making her just a little bit jealous of Kyretia.
Sonya, Latarel, Zethem, and Rentai continued to watch the hatching excitedly. Sonya watched as the green one came close to the group of female candidates, and the three boys were more watching the interesting gold and blue dragonette.

((-winks- Nice job, Jeni! I thought you'd get the other one for sure...too bad you didn't. Here's some more people may or may not recognize. There's one that also would scream to Jeni...but it's a far thing she would most likely not remember... Fia, I think you'll get one of these too. ^^))
The pale green, misty dragon sighed lightly in the minds of all. Most spectators, while apalled by the unusual colors, watched her curiously- she was a thing of beauty. And she knew whom she would choose. Galiana, please take Moth from these Sands? I am a Luna, and not quite happy with the harshness of the texture on my delicate hide. She tilted her head, appraising the young lady, before continuing in her misty voice, And please make them stop looking at me- it's so...rude...to stare. Oh, so she had noticed the looks. The next egg, one the color of a wedding, hatched a gorgeous female. She was the image of perfectness, having perfect proportions and lovely colors. The dragoness was white with slight swirls of pink curling around her hide. Despite her beauty, something seemed amiss. Like she had some sort of secret desire or wish to kill you... The next was also female, and was a deep blue with gold and white stripes. There was a force around her of leadership, but it wasn't harsh and aggressive- it was caring.
((Eh, poopy post.))

((OMG! WAIT! I just figured it out! DUH! *extreme facepalm* Ouch.. *rubs forehead* That hurts... BUT!!! AHHHHH!!! *glomps the Riku dragon and steals him* I can't believe it just popped into my head.. XD And it took me that long to figure out. *hits self in the head again*
And that white and pink one absolutely reminds me of Jilath. Specifically that one line in the Guild, when you and Fear were RPing Lyra and Gilgamesh, and you mentioned how they must have been lost in Vintaph's forest, because Jilath would create a forest with happy and cute little bunnies, when it was "their secret intent to kill you." XDD
Hmmmm... *thinks about the last one*))
More white and pink! Of course Jilath was immediately drawn to the new dragoness. Anything that was pink caught her eye. It was practically a rule. And this one was beautiful, to say the least. Though, there was something about her that was a bit different. She seemed almost deadly. Like, if you got on her bad side you'd regret what you had done or said, for you'd end up in a nasty predicament. Sonya noticed it too, though she was slightly turned off by it, the opposite of Jilath, who was standing not far from her. "Latarel, aren't these dragons just magnificent?" Sonya asked her brother, watching all of them curiously. "Yeah, they really are something. Each of them are so unique." He replied with a grin, also studying them with interest.
And Jeni really has nothing else to say, so the rest of her candidates continued to do what they were doing.
((I love guessing these dragons and who/what they resemble ^^))
