((My gods this is a terrible post, but it doesn't seem like Black's coming back and it needed to get done. ><))
C'rin did not want to be doing this. There were so many things that he would rather be doing- keeping crazy people away from Theo, for example. Avoiding work. Trying not to go bloody insane with everything that was going on. He certainly didn't want to be going off to try and make peace with a bunch of bloody holders.
Okay, one: C'rin was probably the worst person in the world to choose to go and make peace with people. Any people. Especially those holders. He was up to here with them, and just thinking about getting near them made his blood boil. First they attacked the Weyr and then they blamed a plague on dragonriders? What the shard was that?
He wouldn't have gone if it hadn't been for a combination of the facts that he was one of the few people who didn't appear to be able to get sick, he was the Weyrleader, and Theo had threatened to have Lykath eat him if he didn't. Also, she had threatened that if Lykath wouldn't do it, she herself would get out of her sickbed and beat the crap out of him.
While this wasn't very threatening coming from someone who could barely speak coherently, the fact was that she'd probably kill herself in the attempt. Which he couldn't allow, for obvious reasons... Especially after the disturbing thoughts he had had, that he was not going into at this moment.
He hated them.
So it was absolutely no surprise when after about two minutes of semi-civilized conversation that daggers were drawn. He was mostly unworried about this (except about what Theo was going to do to him when he got back) right up to the point where one man managed to knock C'rin's own knife flying and then two others rushed him.
Well, shards.
Mith chose that moment to get very, very upset and smash through a wall, diving in front of His and snatching up one man in his mouth to be tossed aside.
C'rin hoped the man died, or at least he did as soon as he got over trying to kill the other one for stabbing Mith. Ichor flew everywhere, splashing in the faces of the aggressive Holders. It was only Mith's superior size that kept C'rin from going completely insane and actually murdering the lot, and he was carried off back to the Weyr held in Mith's claws, cursing and screaming the entire way.
Fortunately, Mith recovered.
Otherwise, C'rin would really have had to kill someone, though in the end it might have been himself.
