Fia loved her dragon. More than anything. He was hyper, loud, excitable, and very, very silly, but she absolutely loved the creature. It was strange that the hot-tempered girl could put up with the incredibly hyper Stream without going mad. She hadn't lost her temper with him for months, now.
But this was just too much.
The dragon. Was covered. In paint.
Purple paint.
If it had been orange, things might've been different.
But it was purple.
Fia did not appreciate the fact that her dragon was purple.
This, O good people of Noelan Weyr, was one of those rare occasions when Fia lost her temper with her dragon. He didn't notice. He was too busy flying in circles -in an attempt to get people to see his bright purple hide- to listen to his ranting lifemate.
The paint would come off. In a few days. She'd tried scrubbing it. Several times. She'd rounded up her flits, K'rion, and HIS flit to help, but it hadn't worked. It would just have to wear off it self.
WHERE Beneath had gotten so much purple paint, K'rion did NOT want to know. Fia did. She wanted to STRANGLE whoever had let him have it.
She was currently sitting in a tree, in the Weyrbowl, fuming. K'rion, who had stuck around after they'd met during the 'disaster', was trying to calm her down. Without much success.
I'M FINALLY PURPLE! LIFE, I LOVE YOU! I LOVE THE WORLD! PURPLE! HOORAAAAY!
Beneath, you're driving Yours insane.
Oh, she can't get much worse 'n she already is!
Marinoth shook his head, but continued to try and reason with the three-times-smaller dragon.

What is this? The tiny little Hart shoved his head out of the ledge in his weyr and peered up into the sky. Where he saw a bright purple Beneath. BENEATH. YOU ARE PURPLE! Good job stating the obvious there, Breath.
Ar'lyr joined his dragon on the ledge and grinned in amusement. So Beneath had finally found a way to turn purple. At least now Breath would stop talking about purple things. Maybe. For a day or something. The Hart had taken a liking to the color ever since he'd met the Stream.
With a chuckle, he hopped on Breath and prodded the Hart to join the others in the Weyrbowl. As soon as he climbed off, Breath darted into the sky to join Beneath.
You are like a giant purple butterfly!
Ar'lyr just rolled his eyes and ambled over to Fia and K'rion. Offering a polite smile to the boy, he then turned an apologetic one to the Streamrider. "Are you going to let him stay purple for a while? He does seem to love it so much." Of course he didn't know that she'd tried scrubbing it out...
CAN I BE PURPLE, TOO? ...No. PLEASE? PLSPLSPLSPLEASE? ........No.

BENEATH! DON'T YOU JUST LOVE THE PURPLE PAINT?!?! Brookth called as he appeared from between, also drenched in the colorful substance as he happily sported his temporarily purple hide. Well, there's your answer on where it came from.... Only god knows where he found it. The Stream then noticed the Hart, and his apparent interest in the purplyness. To Brookth, purplyness is definately a word. Do you want some purple paint too? I have lots more! He asked Breath, fully intending to get some if the other dragon wanted to join in and be purple.
L'rian finally found the group of riders, smiling at the three of them as he came over. "Hey everyone!" Cheerful as always. He had just discovered what his Stream had done. Though, the whole thing really didn't phase him. It would be something he would do. And, nothing his dragon did ever angered him. That's just how their relationship is. "Something wrong, Fia?" He asked upon seeing the angered look on his fellow Streamrider's face. Apparently, he didn't quite realize that just because he was fine with he dragon being purple for a few days, other people would not be.

Beneath squeaked -yes, the 34 foot dragon squeaked- when he heard his friend Breath.
A Giant Purple BUTTERFLY?! Oh, thank you, Breath! He flew over to the Hart. Then noticed Brookth and squeaked again. Yes! I LOOOVE the purple paint! Then he turned back to Breath. He DOES have lots more. I saw!
Fia saw Ar'lyr and smiled a little. "I guess," she sighed. K'rion smiled back at the older boy.
Then Fia saw L'rian and waved, smile growing a bit more. "Not really. It's just I wish he'd ask before turning himself purple."
Deciding that it'd be easier to talk if they were all on the same level, jumped off the ten foot high branch. It wasn't that high, and she managed to land on her feet. K'rion wasn't as lucky, and though he also landed on his feet, he stumbled and knocked the girl over.
"Sorry!" He scrambled away and to his feet. For this was one of those not-so-rare occasions when she had a foot-long leather knife-sheath attached to her belt. He did not want to give her a reason to show him the blade it contained.
Fia growled, but stood up and grinned at the others. "This is K'rion, Spectorrider. K'rion," She poked the boy's shoulder. "This is Ar'lyr and L'rian," she continued, leaving it up to the boys to introduce their dragons.
"Hi." K'rion grinned too. "My dragon's Marinoth." He tilted his head, listening. "He says hi."
The dragon in had taken off to join the three smaller, but older dragons in the sky. Hi! I'm Marinoth! Nice to meetcha!

Oh. OH. You mean I can be purple, too? CAN I? I said no, Breath B-but, if he could lip-quiver, he would have, I want to be pretty, too! Don't be absurd. You're pretty already. Ar'lyr rolled his eyes away from the others for a moment to peer up at the Hart in the sky. Well...I'm going to do it anyway! Brookth, I want to be purple, too!
Ar'lyr groaned and bit his lip for a moment and sighed. "Looks like my Breath is going to be joining the new fashion," he said this lightly, but was obviously not too keen on the idea. Though he was nowhere near as upset as Fia and not even close to being apathetic like L'rian.
He pushed the issue aside and smiled slightly at K'rion. The Hartrider wasn't as shy as he had been, but still had some problems when meeting new people. "Hi, the Hart is mine," he gestured at the non-purple dragon. Well, the non-purple dragon for now.

Brookth's eyes seemed to light up when Breath said he wanted to be purple too. OK! Let me go get some paint! And with that the Stream went between. Just a few seconds later he returned, carrying four buckets of the colorful purple liquid. Not wasting a moment, the Stream, using the same method he had when coloring Beneath, flew above the Hart and dumped each bucket onto his hide.
Surprisingly, once he was done, the dragon was covered in an even coat and was now completely purple. Brookth must be an artist...
THERE! Now you are purple too! Now there are THREE purple dragons! He seemed to be very happy with this fact. Then he turned on Marinoth. Are you sure you don't want to be purple too? He asked, a bit mischievously.
Sure, Brookth may have been the oldest of the dragons present, but the Spector did outrank him, not to mention outsize him too, being slightly over twice his size. However, being smaller or outranked had never stopped the Stream before from causing mischief.
"Nice to meet'cha, K'rion, Ar'lyr." L'rian greeted casually. "That one, Brookth, the mischief maker," he said, jabbing his thumb proudly at Brookth, "is mine." No need to mention that Brookth was the only unclaimed dragon. No to mention they probably could've guessed the mischievous dragon belonged only to L'rian, considering the dragonrider's reputation.
He chuckled at Ar'lyr's comment. "Yes, it would seem so. But don't worry," he added, noticing the disinterest in the idea, "it does come off in a few days. It's by no means permanent."

Beneath cheered when Brookth poured paint all over Breath. Yay! They were all purple!
Yay! We are all purple!
Except Marinoth.
Except Marinoth!
But all the dragon's whose names began with 'B' were purple!
But all the dragons whose names begin with what Mine calls 'Bee' are purple!
Fia looked up at Beneath, about to explain the difference between the letter 'B' and stinging insects...
Wait. Beneath. Liked. Bugs.
Never mind...
Marinoth considered it. K'rion?
...Fine. It'll come off...
YAY! The Spector let out a very 'unkingly' squeal. Yes. He was almost completely unaware of his rank. Much to K'rion's relief. K'rionmine I can be purple too! he announced to the group at large.
Fia looked at Ar'lyr, aware that the Hartrider hadn't let his dragon turn purple without protest. "He didn't listen, huh?"
"Nice to meet you, too, Ar'lyr, L'rian." K'rion paused, then looked relieved. "That's good. Cause I just told Marinoth he could go along with it."
Fia staaaaaared. "You LET him?"
"I bet you would've too, is Beneath had bothered to ask," the boy replied, rather teasingly.
Fia frowned, then looked away, crossing her arms and muttering something that sounded like "...maybe..."
