Theo snorted. "Of course it has an answer. Even you don't act like that for no reason." She sighed. "Just forget it. I didn't want-" She had to stop, cut off by the cough that forced its way up her throat. She turned away through the sluggish reactions she managed to get from her limbs. It was rude to cough on people. Even C'rin. If you could call him a 'people.'
More like between warmed over. The wherry.

C'rin wouldn't resent her that thought, either. Between was probably warmer than the inside of his heart.
He winced and glanced away when she started to cough. It was painful to listen to - probably more painful to experience. Thank Faranth he hadn't gotten sick. Odd, though. He did wonder why he hadn't, but was thankful for it. When he decided to stop taking it for granted.
"Look," he sounded uneasy over the whole Theo dying in front of him thing, "I can think about it if you want, get back to you...later..." Later. If she was still alive. And nevermind that she told him to forget the subject. He wasn't going to now.

He was looking away, Theo noted when she could turn back again. Great. Now she was disgusting as well as unlikeable. Fabulous. This visit with C'rin was just making her day. They really ought to do this more often.
"Just forget it, C'rin," she said, clearing her throat in an attempt to make her voice less raspy. It didn't work. Damn cough. "I'm sorry I asked."

He flipped his hand at her. Again.
"You should be sorry!" he snorted, casting his gaze back over to her. "Now I wont be able to stop thinking about it until I find the answer. Though I'm sure that was your plan anyway." He wrinkled his nose and sighed. She looked worse after coughing. But why did he care? Add that to the list of things to figure out.

"You're infuriating," Theo informed him flatly. "You'd better be glad I can't throw things. Or strangle you." And she had never wished more that she could.
Okay, so that was a lie.
There were plenty of times she'd wanted more to beat the crap out of him with random blunt objects. She just couldn't think of any where she'd been physically incapable of doing so. Just... responsibly incapable. Poor, poor Mith, stuck with such a rider.
The hand-flipping was extremely annoying, but she knew better than to mention it. If she did, he'd never stop.
"Uh, C'rin?" she said after a moment. Might as well bring it up. "How many Kingriders are still healthy?" If Lykath seriously did what she thought she was going to do, Theo was going to kill her. With her bare hands.

C'rin shurgged and smiled slightly. He knew. Oh, did he know how infuriating he was. He had figured Theo wanted to strangle him, but knew it wouldn't happen. Which he was completely okay with.
"I...don't know?" He honestly didn't know. He hadn't been paying much attention to anyone else. It had been himself, Mith, and visiting Theo. Mostly just himself and Mith, if you wanted to get technical.

Theo made a face at him. Very mature, Theo. Anyway. "I can't believe you. Do you even know how many people are sick? How many people are dead? You're the Weyrleader, C'rin!" She sighed. "For now," she added in a mutter.
Stupid Lykath.
"Er, what do you think will happen to.... everybody... if Lykath were to Rise? Right now? Hypothetically?" She wasn't going to ask what he thought would happen to her, because his response would probably be along the lines of 'maybe you'll die. That would be awesome.'
Yeah.

It was actually kind of cute that she was able to use what strength she had left to make a face at him. She seemed to have a lot of energy for a dying person. Maybe her fury concerning C'rin and his noncommital answers was enough.
He shrugged again at the rebuke. Sure, he was the Weyrleader. Did that really mean he had to go stalking around, keeping an eye on everyone and reminding them all that he was the only one immune to the sickness? Was it really fair to prance around remind them of that? Well, that and he just didn't feel like looking at the people he knew dying. It was too reminescent of the last wave of death. He couldn't handle that, not with almost losing Mith. And now losing- Wait what?
"Is Lykath getting ready to Rise?" he couldn't get his mind past that thought. She was dying, but well enough to Rise? Or was she even well enough? "Can she make it through an entire Flight?"

"I don't... know," Theo said, glaring past him at Lykath, who merely huffed and went back to her Mith-cuddling. "I'm very upset about it. What if she falls? She hasn't been eating well, and she hasn't been flying much, and I can't stop her if she goes. Why is she doing this to meeeeeeeee....?"
Despair.
"I didn't think she could if I was this sick! Apparently, the stubborn little monster can and will." Wow, for a second there she was angrier at Lykath than she was at C'rin! Incredible.
Perhaps if I have eggs you will get better, Lykath put in. After all, I cannot die if I have eggs. Therefore, you cannot either!
I don't think it works that way....

Alright! He had gotten out of answering the immensely difficult question she had posed to him. Good work, C'rin. Top notch.
"I don't think she's doing it to upset you..." he tried, knowing it was difficult to change the woman's mind. And why did he say that? Was he trying to make her feel better? How would he make a dying person feel better? She hated him, so obviously she'd get no joy out of his visit.
He pouted. Yes, the great C'rin pouted. He glanced at the dragons and wondered why he bothered sometimes. It wasn't like anything changed between them. Mith and Lykath got along well enough, so why not their riders? And for Faranth's sake, Theo was dying. There, he thought it. Shouldn't he at least be obligated to make her last few...sometimes a little better?
Nah. But the thought was there.
"Mith will be there to take care of her," he muttered, still looking at the dragons. He meant it, too. But, veeeery subconsciously, he meant something else, too.

((Awww! He's so cute when he's clueless! -stranglehug-))
"I hope not. If she hurts herself trying to upset me..." This was the point at which Theo would have liked to shake a fist in Lykath's general direction. However, that wasn't going to work. "She seems to think that since she won't between if she has eggs, I can't die. Crazy dragon..."
Mutter mutter mutter.
"But she might not choose Mith this time!" Theo fretted. "And some of the others are so much smaller than she is, or lazy, or... What if she squishes somebody?! Or crashes? Or falls? I can't stop her!" All this panicking could not be good for her health. What was left of it, that is.

Ack! Theo was going to die sooner if she kept getting upset like that! Do something about it, C'rin!
Now he was talking to himself. Great.
"Calm down!" he snapped at her, body twisting around to glare at her. Didn't she know better than to get worked up like that when she could hardly breathe properly? "You're going to hurt yourself thinking about her getting hurt trying to upset you." He stumbled over his words in the effort to get them out properly.
"I'm sure none of the other Kings are as healthy as Mith. And I doubt he will let anyone else outfly him. Lykath would be stupid to choose anyone else. No offense," he directed at Lykath, just in case she decided to squish him. Or try to.
"Now quit getting so worked up. You'll end up doing something...bad." Well, that was a lame way to finish.

Theo had, indeed, realized the problems associated with sickness and panic combined.
Inhale. Ow. Exhale. Ouch.
Repeat.
Okay, we're good.
None taken, Lykath said, amused enough to reply to someone other than Hers. Anxiety couldn't be good for Hers, but certainly being with someone so amusing surely couldn't be too bad for her.
"Bad?" she managed eventually. "That was... lame. I don't care so much who Catches as..."
Silence.
"Wait. I forgot what I was talking about."

C'rin was glad that she'd realized this and regulated her breathing. He tipped his head back to stare at the Mist when she spoke to him. A quick nod was all there was to signify that he heard her. Though that might be silly that she wouldn't have known that he heard it.
"Yeah, I know that was lame. Thanks for letting me know."
The silence went on a little longer.
"You were talking about that you don't care so much who Catches as...something," he goaded, curious.

"I forgot the 'as.....'" Theo said, frowning. Okay, there had to have been something to come after that 'as'. She wouldn't have just started talking without anything to say. That was stupid. C'rin did that. She didn't do that.
"As.... oh, come on.... As... Oh, right. As Lykath not getting hurt. That's it." Lie. She couldn't remember what she had been going to say.
Shardit.
Oh, come on, she had to have something...
"As... shardit. As something. I just don't want anything bad to happen. Hah. Too late." She leaned back and stared at the ceiling. "I think my brain just died."
