Sonya woke up first. She was distinctly aware that she was not alone in her bed, and that there was a warm, muscular figure lying next to her, with his arm draped over her waist. And, she had a dreading feeling that she knew exactly who it was. She looked down at said arm. Yep. That confirmed it. Funny how if you knew a person well enough you could tell who they were just by looking at an arm. Sonya let a sound escape her throat that was a mix between a groan and a whimper. L'tarel woke up upon hearing his sister. The two of them instantly separated, turned to face each other, and stared at each other as they sat in the bed, neither of them speaking a word. This was a 'oshitwhatthehelldowedonow?!?!' moment. Must.Remain.Calm. Yeah, that didn't really happen. Sonya and L'tarel both screamed, waking up their dragons. "EEEEEEEEEE!!!" "AHHHHHHHH!!!" "DEATH! WHAT DID YOU DO?!" "SONITH! YOU ARE SUCH A BRONZE!" "I.....YOU...." "WE...." "BUT I DIDN'T....." "I WOULD NEVER HAVE...." "THIS IS...." "Uhhh..." "Uhhh..." Unified, frustrated outbursts/groans followed from the pair of them after that rant of unfinished statements. What is wrong with the two of them?[/tt] Innocent as always. And, quite frankly, she seemed a bit annoyed that they were acting that way. It was silly to her, and she was a very happy dragoness at the moment. She gave them a demeaning look. I don't know. Humans are strange. Why do they act as if they world is ending? He was also very content, and he gave Sonya and L'tarel a look that said something like, 'You are acting like an idiot. Get over it.' You are right, and I don't know. But who cares, let's cuddle![/tt] Yes. Cue affectionate nuzzling, humming, and cuddling from two very happy dragons who really didn't care that their riders were freaking out.

And, after a few hours of talking, ranting, crying, confusion, more talking, a bit more freaking out, and then finally, some calm, L'tarel went back to his own weyr and Sonya left hers to go find Theo. Sonya was still a bit shaken but, once she and her brother had established that everything would be fine and nothing would change between them, they had finally gotten to talk normally and things had returned to close to how they had been the previous day. It might take a little bit longer to get back to completely normal. Normal people didn't go through that everyday. Sleeping with your sibling and all. The whole idea was still unnerving. A small shiver went down her spine. Both from that thought, and from the though of what she had seen yesterday right before Death's flight. Which was exactly the reason for her visit to Theo. She went to the Weyrwoman's door and knocked.

"GAH!" Theo had been caught in the middle of seeing if she could stand on her head for twenty minutes. When there was a knock at the door, she fell over. "Just a minute!" she said, her voice slightly muffled by... well... the floor. After she figured out how to stand up and had gotten the stumbling about confusedly bit done with, she went to answer the door. Her face was flushed, her hair was a disaster zone, and hanging upside down was not the best for the state of her clothes. She was a complete and total mess. Why was she always a mess when she answered her door? "Oh. Hello, Sonya." Theo recalled yesterday, and winced. "So... uh... Ah... You... Are... Uh... why don't you... come... in?" Poor girl. That could certainly freak someone out.

If Sonya had known what Theo had been doing, she would have laughed and then offered to join her. But, anyway, she gave Theo a small smile and entered the room. "Thank you." She said, feeling a bit awkward. She wondered if everyone was going to think about what she and L'tarel had done last night, even if it wasn't their choice. Oh well, it happened, and she would just have to deal with it. Even if it still freaked her out. But that wasn't why she was here. Not now anyway. "I have something I need to talk to you about." She told Theo, "You see, yesterday, right before Death's flight, Death and I were hit with a very realistic image of people screaming and running in terror, earthquakes and storms occurring, and a lot of water everywhere. And I'm not really sure what to make of it, nor do I know why Death would see such a thing."

Theo, who wasn't exactly up to snuff when it came to anything vaguely paranormal, stared at her. "Uh... were you... sleeping when you saw this?" Or has the Junior Weyrwoman just gone nuts? "I mean, it's no big deal to see things that aren't there. Everybody does that." It was true. "But you shouldn't... you know... take it too seriously..." Err...

Hopefully she wasn't going nuts. She was already crazy enough, in a good way mind you, as it was. "No, I wasn't sleeping. That;'s why it bothered me. I was perfectly awake and coherent. It was just so real, like I was actually there, with all those horrified people. Normally, I'd probably say the same thing, people can see things like that. But it was just to life-like to shake." She explained. "Though, I guess you're right, I probably shouldn't take it to seriously. Maybe Death was just in the heat of the moment or something like that."

"Probably," Theo agreed, scratching her ear. Though she had been getting odd reports from the only rider still out there- R'hel and Baran informed her that the weather was going insane, at least where they were, and also that the illness had still not let up. The only cure, apparently, was dying. Not a happy thought. Theo had informed them that, if they died, she would personally kill them.

Sonya nodded. "Is there any news on the status of the plauge or anything?" She asked, thinking of the quarantine and wanting to change the topic a bit. She didn't want Theo to think she was nuts fir having strange visions. Having strange unexplainable visions was generally not a good thing.

"BAH!" Theo lunged forward and slapped her hand over Sonya's mouth. "Don't talk about that, silly! If people hear about it too much, they'll panic!" She glanced around furtively. "I'm going to let go of your face now." She did, and backed off. "If this is going to get long, let's go sit." She marched over and sat in a chair by the window.

Sonya's eyes widened in surprise at the sudden lunge by Theo. Well, stranger things had happened. "Sorry." She whispered once her face had been released. "I won't say anything in public." She whispered again, following Theo over. Why was she whispering? Who knew.

"Everyone is dying," Theo said flatly. "There's no cure, and two thirds of the people who get it are dead within a sevenday. Most of the rest don't last a month. The weather's going insane, and my patrol officers are out there." She leaned back, passing a hand over her eyes. "I don't even know what to do. I can't bring them back in, but I feel terrible leaving them out there in that."

"Oh wow.." Sonya replied, putting a hand over her mouth. The news was horrible, worse than she had expected. "I really wish there was something we could do. That's just terrible. Everything is such a mess. If only there was some sort of cure, anything, so that R'hel and Baran could come back and no one else would have to die." She shook her head sadly.

Theo sighed. "I know. But there seems to be nothing that can be done. I certainly can't send anyone out to try to find a cure, because they'd just get sick and die with the rest of them. We can't lose any more people. And... With the mob mentality of all those holders..." She sighed again. "I'm sure that they'll try and find a way to blame it on us."
