Name: Limire
Age: 16
Appearance:
The most noticeable feature about Limire is the fact that she walks on the balls of her feet, on her tippy-toes. She has low shoulder-length, ash-colored hair. The mass is often woven into a braid which can be transformed into a bun when she is at work. Her eyes are boring, boring brown, but around the pupil is a ring of light green. She often refers to her eyes as muddy-grass colored. She isn’t dainty, but well built to deal with the beasts of her craft. Limire comes off more as cute then beautiful.
Limire likes everything plain and simple. She dresses up nicely if the occasion calls for it, but her previous craft didn’t allow for pretty clothing, as it would get ruined quickly. She prefers a dark colored tunic and lighter colored trousers.
Personality:
Limire is an all or nothing type of person. If she sees an opportunity she goes for it. Goals are what keep her going. Without a goal, she would get very depressed and fall into a mental abyss until a new goal was forged. She is very even tempered and so easy to get along with. Her greatest flaw is not knowing her limits: she will attempt anything just to prove herself capable. Dares are a bad, bad thing for her. She is better than everybody else and no one can tell her differently. This has gotten her into trouble before, as it's easy to get her to pull pranks, merely by telling her she can't do it.
Her strength is her mind. Everything is strategy to her. She sees how people with relationships with powerful people tend to become powerful themselves. She will analyze every situation, almost to the point of obsession. Nothing she does is spontaneous, unless spurred by someone else. She hates being considered less important or less capable than a man. This will enrage her to do things she normally would not do. In her mind, strength has no gender.
History:
To understand Limire, you have to understand the past of her parents. Mydeha and Tuvyd met each other at Noelan Weyr. Mydeha was a promising young woman working in the kitchens, Tuvyd was a hopeful candidate. The two fell in love, but their passion was thwarted for a time as Tuvyd Impressed and romance was not allowed. The dragonpair made it through half of their Weyrling period, and then the dragon was fatally injured during an exercise. The first thing Tuvyd asked for after the accident was a suicide draft. Mydeha refused to let go through with it, pleading that as he was only half a person without his Blue, that she would be only half a person without him. Killing himself would be selfish. This worked (the man was still delusional with grief), and the two moved into the Lower Caverns to work. Mydeha stayed in the kitchens, and Tuvyd took up working with beasts.
Limire was the only child produced from this union. Her mother taught her to value all life, and she grew up in a household full of gleaned beastcraft and drudgery-influenced information. She learned about the birds and the bees at a very early age, as no one in the Weyr was overly modest about the subject. She was expected to work in the Weyr at a slightly older age. When the attack on the Weyr came, Tuvyd was killed, and Limire somehow convinced her mother to stay alive. The same arguement Mydeha has used on Tuvyd.
