Name:
K'che (formerly Kinche)
Age:
19 Turns
Appearance:
Kinche is a little short for his age, hitting about 5’6”. He's not as skinny as others his age are, and has a little extra padding. It just means he’s still growing and quite nice to hug. He was never forced to work outside, but he took up the challenge anyway, which resulted in his modest muscle bulk - barely enough to notice, but not enough for anyone to swoon over. Actually, it’s just enough muscle to keep him from developing a pudge. Working outside also rid him of his pale skin; he now sports moderately tanned skin with a dash of freckles across his shoulders. His hair had once been light brown, but has since lightened to a sun-touched brown which resembles dirty hay more than it does his natural color. He keeps his hair short because it looks better that way. His eyes are much of a contrast to his hair, being a deep sapphire that resembles black more than blue. Or at least it does in the right lighting. His eyes are a bit deep-set into his face, and rather large, giving him an always amazed look on his face, whether he wants it or not. Kinche is mostly legs, which makes him seem a bit lanky- which he's not; he's just got long legs.
Personality:
Kinche is an amiable boy, generally good-natured until his honor is attacked. His smile is always ready; no matter his mood, he would drop whatever he was doing at the chance to make someone else feel better. He lives vicariously through their happiness, really, and can be easily manipulated in this way. However, should someone do just that, he would plaster his smile and eventually forgive that person. He would be hurt, yes, but he figures he has been hurt before, and others hurt worse, so why worry? This is one of his major character flaws: he lies to himself do he won't have to deal with the pain of rejection. Lately, he's been doing well in not taking offense, but one extremely hurtful deed could push him over the edge. Though once he’s over “the edge” he doesn’t do much more than pout and kick a few pebbles. Not the aggressive type. But that problem aside, Kinche gets lonely very easily, and will seek out company the moment he is left alone. He’s fairly easy to talk to and even easier to win his agreement. He'll give you honesty if asked, but usually prefers to sugarcoat the truth to ensure there is no negative reaction. Kinche is "noble", at least at first glance. He's the kind who lets woman go first, always respects his elders and even has the 'rescue fair maiden' complex to a small degree. At second glance he is desperate for attention, but too timid to do anything to get it. He does not always cover it well. He's a boy of paradoxes. Inwardly, it is quite possible that he falls for every person that gives him attention, but outwardly, he chooses to distance himself from any of those feelings, as it could be another medium for pain.
History:
Kinche was never really mistreated as a child. He went through no mortifying experiences that he would die if anyone found out. But then again, that may just be because he's very open about his past. He lived a very sheltered life, protected by his father and elder brother. His mother stayed home while his father worked and did things like cook, clean and weave. He was not allowed to work until he was 16, and fell into the job with a bit of grumbling. He took up a job helping the cook, learning a lot from him. When he was 14, his younger brother was seriously injured. It turned out to be his fault – he’d left something out that the boy tripped on – and that really got to Kinche. A little too soft-hearted, he insisted on tending to his brother until he was strong enough to take care of himself. He's always felt a little guilt about that, and always will. Then, right after his youngest brother recovered, another sibling fell ill. Having always been squeamish about illnesses, Kinche gladly got himself Searched...before the sickness. (nope, no diseases. ^^ ) He has not spoken to his family since then, though for no horrible reason. He just doesn’t really have a way or need to.
Companions:
None, though he’d love one.
